Condition

This jade bead has been altered to a milky white and is decorated with one of the most typical images in Liangzhu Culture, the animal mask. Minimally carved in low relief, this mask has oval eye sockets that are open at their bottom edges flowing into the beasts nose ridge. The mouth is a closed, rounded rectangle. The bead, which is ornamental, would be affixed via the biconical hole drilled through its center. The bead is smooth and had no chips or cracks. This item does not come with a display base.
