Condition

This bi disc is a wonderful, if typical expression of the form. It is finely carved from a calm olive green nephrite with alterations of reddish brown caused by mineral intrusions, likely iron oxide. As is typical of Liangzhu bi, the perforation is central and shows evidence of being drilled from both ends. Its surfaces are extraordinarily even, and it's edges are sharp and flat. This work is in very fine condition considering its age and has some very minor chips on it's edges. A custom made steel display base is included.
