The flat nephrite pendant is a striking black and green jade with some minor cracks running through the middle. The ornament depicts a perched bird with folded wings. The ornament is expertly carved and quite expressive. A comparable work was discovered in Tomb No. 18 in the Qiaobei Cemetary, Fushan County, Shanxi Province.
