The jade is translucent and mostly green with traces of yellow. There are some white inclusions along its chest and muzzle. Quite a bit of cinnabar and soil residue remain embedded inside the tool-marks. The anthers are elaborate and tall. The lines carved inside the body of the deer are not decorative, instead they serve to articulate the animal's anatomy. A suspension perforation runs through the neck. A similar work was discovered in Tom No. 3 at the Qianzhang Grand Site, Tengzhou City and is currently in the collection of the China Academy of Social Sciences (CASS).
