The sculptural pendant is carved in the round and rendered in delicate light green jade with pale brown and white inclusions. The figure presented is a bird with the head of a tiger. The tiger's mouth is wide and open, as are its eyes. Its wings are folded and its tail-feathers curled underneath its rump forming a support point. A pattern carved into its broad chest indicates feathers, while its wings bear a cloud design typical of the period. There is a perforation carved through the top between its erect ears, and out through the bottom for suspension. Overall, the work is in excellent condition and masterfully carved.
