This brown nephrite pendant is decorated in raised, somewhat abstract, scrollwork common in decorative art from this period. The line work illustrates the otherwise flat pendant, delineating the carpal edge of the wing, beak, eyes, and feet of the bird. There are two perforations, one at the top of its head and the other through its beak. There are fine cracks and staining which are consistent with its age.
