Anthropomorphism was a common theme in Western Zhou art and this pendant is a fine, although unusual, example. The human's face is in profile and wearing a headdress. He has a tiger cub clinging to his back and his lower body is that of a fish. The translucent jade pendant is flat and wonderfully carved. Its color is a blueish grey and the suspension perforation retains traces of cinnabar.
