Rendered in white jade, the bear is seated with its legs tucked and hands resting on its knees. His head is slightly upturned with his trapezoidal face facing the heavens. He has large eyes and nostrils and his mouth is slightly open in a pleasing grin. His body is decorated in a hooked pattern that resembles leaves on a vine and he has a bullnose perforation for suspension going down through the back of his head and out the top of his back. There is a small gash in his bottom that is well weathered. Comparable to a similar work found in the tomb of Fu Hao.
