The thick pendant is rendered in a bright to dark green jade with some brown inclusions. The harnessed ox head is wonderfully carved in bas relief. His horns are decorated with scroll and double arc patterns. His nose is flared and clearly defined. His teeth are gritted and square, and there is a diamond carved between both his eyebrows. The suspension perforation is above the horns and goes out through the back of its head. A similar pendant depicting a horse head was discovered in the Guo Cemetery at Sanmenxia, Henan.
